“The room reminds me of the kind of places Henri and I used to stay in during the early days.”

From Pittacus Lore’s Lorien Legacies: United as One.

The world is quickly falling apart as the evil Setrákus Ra and his alien army of Mogdorian move against John (Four) and the other members of the Lorien Garde try to gather for one last stand.  The Garde are scattered and mourning their many losses as the battle for Earth’s safety has stretched on for longer than either side thought possible.  John, Six, Nine, Sam, Ella, and all the other Garde must think outside the box and decide once and for all who they can trust.  On top of fighting off a horde of Mog soldiers and sympathizers, the Garde must also try to help the humans that are developing legacies (Loric powers) control their new abilities and hopefully join in the fight against the Mogs.  With Ella’s fate tied to that of Setrákus Ra, John must make a decision once and for all on how to attack (and defeat) the Mog leader… and how far the members of the Garde are willing to go to save a planet that isn’t even their own.

The seventh and final book in the Lorien Legacies series is full of action and suspense, but also enough heart to keep the characters engaging, as well.  The various Garde narration provides a well-rounded development for the story.  The action is continuous and the story is well-developed, bringing all the books together for a full adventure in a thrilling conclusion.  As the series finale, this book relies heavily on the previous books in the series, but as it is so far into the series, it works to tie everything in the series together.  United as One is a thrilling must-read for fans of the series and a fight-to-the-finish, as well.
