“The dream was changing.”

From Kristen Simmons’ Article 5: Three.

Ever since she escaped from the Federal Bureau of Reformation (FBR) facility that would have destroyed who she was because she was born to an un-wed mother, her life has been filled with danger and confusion.  While Chase helped her escape and is still trying to help her reach safety, Ember struggles with choices from Chase’s past that have seriously impacted her life, but still finds herself falling in love with him.  Along with constantly running from the FBR, Ember has come face-to-face with the resistance movement and has to decide to join them or try to reach freedom on her own.  Ember and Chase’s long search for a safe house has been shattered and now they are left in the middle of a fast-growing war for power.  While trying to figure out what to do next, the young lovers hear rumors of the location of the organization called Three, and decide to search out the safety of the group.  As the Bureau of Reformation raises their dangerous search for Ember and Chase, the teens will have to decide how far they are willing to go with the rebellion movement to both gain their freedom and to bring down the system that destroyed their lives.

The third and final book in Simmons’ dystopian thriller trilogy is full of page-turning action and drama.  The characters are complex and constantly-developing through the many situations the trilogy places them in, especially this book.  The foundation of the series will be upsetting to some (as a good idea is warped with negative effects), but many will find themselves faced with some big questions from the characters actions and ideas.  Three is an edge-of-your-seat read from start to finish that fans of the series will really enjoy.
