“Getting eaten by a giant crocodile was bad enough.”

From Rick Riordan’s Demigods & Magicians.

While half-god-half-human Percy Jackson and his girlfriend Annabeth Chase have been protecting New York City from dangerous mythical monsters and evil Greek gods, siblings Carter and Sadie Kane have been learning how to harness magic against ancient Egyptian evils plaguing Long Island. In The Son of Sobek, Carter has been summoned to stop a magically-powered crocodile, but things quickly take a wrong turn when he’s eaten by the crocodile only to be rescued by Percy a few moments later. Unsure of each other, the boys fight for a few minutes before realizing that only by working together can they stop the crocodile from hurting people. As a child of a Greek goddess, Annabeth is used to seeing monsters that normal people can’t, but in The Staff of Serapis, she’s surprised when the different Sadie jumps in, fighting to keep the monster from growing. The girls join forces like they never knew was possible to defeat the monster before it completes its evil mission. In The Crown of Ptolemy, Percy and Annabeth have gone to stop a hurricane, but when they discover that the Egyptian magician Setne is at the center of it all, they know they’re in trouble. When Carter and Sadie arrive to confront Setne, the four powerful teens band together in a desperate attempt to save the world.
